Abstract

The study of numbers in the Qur'an is a new dimension to understand the meaning of verses in more detail. Most of the scholars are of the opinion that the number elements contained in the verses of the Al-Qur'an have signs that are considered important. In addition, the element of number is also one aspect that is also discussed in the study of the miracles of the Qur'an, namely the miracle of numbers (i'jaz-'adadi). The emergence of the miracles of the Qur'an in terms of numbers has attracted the interest of Muslim intellectuals who come from various backgrounds. However, the research findings presented are often disputed. This is because researchers usually use their own style in conducting research according to their field of expertise. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to explore Muslim intellectual arguments against 'ijaz' adadi in the Qur'an as the basis for the development of science, especially in mathematical concepts related to the basic mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and distribution. The method used in this paper is to use the literature study method and then review it by analyzing data descriptively from previous studies related to this topic.
