Abstract

In the current development, the rampant cases of intolerance, radicalism and terrorism in the midst of society make wasathiyyah values a necessity to be applied in society, especially adolescents. wasathiyyah values are built on the basis of humanity and benefit, One of the efforts that must be made by teachers to instill wasathiyyah values which are increasingly starting to erode, can be started with guidance in institutions that from the beginning have a focus on the basics of strong Islamic religion, the institution in question is Pondok Pesantren, why Pondok Pesantren? The implementation of wasathiyyah values in shaping the character of students at Al-Bidayah Islamic Boarding School is very well implemented. This can be seen when the students in their daily lives always apply good manners in their speech and behavior. This research uses descriptive qualitative research of the type of field research (Field Research). the research subject was carried out purposively. The purpose of the implementation of wasathiyyah values in shaping the character of students of Al-Bidayah Jember Islamic Boarding School. making students not busy with commenting on other people's opinions and trying to listen to other people's opinions without reducing freedom of opinion, improving the quality of students in terms of morality and intellectuality. provide equal treatment between race, ethnicity and social status.
