Improper application of the curriculum in educational institutions has an impact on dehumanizing learning processes and educational goals. The independent curriculum is new in formal educational institutions in Indonesia. It is hoped that the change in the curriculum will achieve the goal of national education, namely educating the life of the nation, as well as forming humane Indonesians. This study aims to analyze the independent curriculum with Ivan Illich's pedagogical concept. This type of research uses library research, namely research related to theoretical studies and references as well as data obtained through literature such as books, journals, and scientific articles, related to research topics. The results of the study found that the implementation of the independent curriculum has the opportunity for a dehumanization process to occur. This relates to Ivan Illich's criticism of the independent curriculum, including, 1). Age classification of students who wish to continue their studies. The independent curriculum still has a time limit of 7-15 years for students to study primary and junior high school, this has an impact on students who have completed elementary school but due to financial constraints, they can only continue their studies in the following year. So he is considered to have exceeded the rules so that the school does not accept him, 2). Grades and diplomas are considered knowledgeable people. Students are considered intelligent if they have good grades. Even a diploma becomes legitimate in determining a person's social status, 3). Learners are designed to become workers. Learners in the independent study-free campus program are directed to have the freedom to interact with the world of work. With the aim that after graduation he can become a good worker. In conclusion, the independent curriculum still has a process of dehumanization.
