Aktualisasi Budaya Membaca Melalui Literasi Digital Bagi Siswa Penyandang Tunanetra di Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri (SLBN) Pandaan Kecamatan Pandaan Kabupaten Pasuruan

Abstract

Reading literacy is important ability to be mastered by blind students. However, the fact is facilities or media for blind students are very limited, especially for Braille in printed version which has begun to be discontinued. In addition, technological developments have been very rapid, it necessary to develop digital learning media to assist the learning process and a means of obtaining good information. This study used a qualitative descriptive method through a case study approach by interviewing 5 informants. The purpose of study to determine the literacy of digital screen readers and level of understanding of blind students in the process of learning to read subject matter at SLBN Pandaan. This study found that blind students have used screen readers NVDA type in their learning. The use of this media is recognized as very helpful for students and teachers, although there are still obstacles including the lack quantity of hardware.
