Abstract

Law Number 20 of the Republic of Indonesia of 2003 concerning the National Education System is a legal regulation that regulates the education system in Indonesia. The nation's noble ideals, as stated in Indonesia's national education goals aim to develop human potential as a whole, both in terms of intellectual intelligence, skills, as well as moral and spiritual values. Teachers play an important role in helping the development of students to realize their life goals optimally. Teachers can help students identify their potential, talents and interests. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research type. The results of this study are that the teacher's exemplary teaching of students has an important and significant role in shaping the character, attitudes and behavior of students. The teacher's example helps in the formation of the character of students. Teachers who show integrity, honesty, empathy, and other positive values can influence students to internalize these values and develop good attitudes.
