Abstract

To build communication literacy skills in the digital era requires choosing the right type of media and how to use it. The media needs are mainly in the process of learning Indonesian as a foreign language in BIPA tutorial activities. This study aims to determine the types and methods of using digital media in BIPA program tutorial activities. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study used surveys, document studies, and structured interviews. Data in the form of verbal data were analyzed based on the theory of accuracy and fluency. There are 27 language partners accompanying 15 foreign students from the BIPA CLS program in 2022 who were involved in this research. This research has limitations, namely based on the perspective of language partners. The results of the study can be concluded that there are five digital media used by language partners in BIPA program activities with foreign students, namely Websites, Infographics, Social Media, Digital Video, and Digital Audio. The five types of digital media influence how to use them. There are three ways to use digital media to build foreign student communication literacy in the BIPA tutorial program, namely programmed, non-programmed (spontaneous), and conditionally (option solutions to problems).
