Pengaruh Lingkungan Industri dan Motivasi Belajar Terhadap Kesiapan Kerja Siswa SMK-SMTI Makassar Dengan Dukungan Sekolah Sebagai Variabel Intervening

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of suitability of the industrial work environment at students’ internship (prakerin) placement, the level of learning motivation, the level of school support, and the level of work readiness of students at SMK-SMTI Makassar. In addition, this study examines the effect of the industrial work environment and learning motivation on students’ work readiness, the effect of the industrial work environment and learning motivation on school support, the effect of school support on students’ work readiness, as well as the role of school support in mediating the effect of the industrial work environment and learning motivation on students’ work readiness. This study employed an ex post facto method with a quantitative approach. The data used consisted of quantitative descriptive and associative data. The results showed that the suitability level of the industrial work environment was in the good category, while learning motivation, school support, and students’ work readiness were categorized as high. Hypothesis testing indicated that the industrial work environment had a positive and significant effect on work readiness, learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on work readiness, the industrial work environment had a positive and significant effect on school support, learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on school support, and school support had a positive and significant effect on work readiness and was the most dominant influencing variable. In addition, school support was proven to partially mediate the effect of the industrial work environment on work readiness and partially mediate the effect of learning motivation on work readiness. The conclusion of this study shows that students’ work readiness at SMK-SMTI Makassar is significantly influenced by the industrial work environment, learning motivation, and especially school support as the most dominant factor. School support also plays an important role as a mediating variable in strengthening the influence of the industrial work environment and learning motivation on students’ work readiness.
