Meaning of Teachers’ Strategies for Guidance and Counseling to Strengthen Students’ Resilience

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of guidance and counseling teachers' strategies in strengthening students’ resilience. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 10 Seram Barat. The research participants consisted of guidance and counseling teachers as well as students. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation, while data analysis techniques included data condensation, data analysis techniques, data presentation, and the drawing and verification of conclusions. The findings showed that students at SMA Negeri 10 Seram Bagian Barat demonstrate varying levels of resilience; some exhibit strong resilience, while others show less effective resilience. This is seen in the activities of students in the learning process and behavior in the school environment. Meanwhile, the service strategies used to strengthen the resilience of SMA Negeri 10 Seram Barat students are individual counseling services, group counseling, consultation and home visits. These strategies serve as a framework for delivering support services and providing educational guidance to students. Overall, the implemented strategies hold positive significance in reinforcing students’ resilience in their daily lives.
