Abstract

Background: Background: In the world of sports, technical ability and physical condition are the focus in developing athlete performance. However, psychology also plays an important role, because a stable psychological condition tends to make players show increased performance, one of which is during the implementation of the smash. Methods: This study is included in the type of literature review, so the data collection method used is to search for articles related to the keywords used, namely "smash assessment" in "psychological conditions" and "volleyball team" In the literature collection process, Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) were used as some of the leading databases, chosen because they provide access to credible and relevant scientific journals. The articles obtained were then subjected to data collection (data collection) with a period of 10 years of article publication. Articles that match the keywords are then analyzed to answer the research question.. Results: the psychological and physical conditions of a volleyball player can affect the effectiveness of the smash produced. The psychological factors are such as motivation (drive), concentration, anxiety management, self-confidence, mentality, and good teamwork. In physical factors themselves include muscles and body posture. Good psychological and physical conditions tend to produce more accurate, powerful, and effective smashes. Stable psychological conditions tend to make players show good performance when doing smashes, where attacks become more concentrated and sharp. Conclusions: The psychological and physical conditions of a volleyball player have an influence on the results of the smashes performed, a stable psychological condition makes attacks more concentrated and sharp.
